Senior Test Engineer I

Job Summary

The Senior Test Engineer I is primarily responsible for the overall quality assurance of the software applications developed and hosted by EB Admin Tech. Primary responsibilities will focus on writing test cases against requirements and developing/running manual tests.

The Manual QA Engineer would also be responsible for API testing.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute test cases / suites / plans.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases.
• Analyze, document, and track defects.
• Define testable acceptance criteria.
• Actively participate in Agile / Scrum ceremonies.
• Conduct peer reviews and assist other team members in implementing coding best practices.
• Execute API tests.
• Analyze, document, and track processes and workflows.
• Conduct peer and code reviews.
• Identify resources needed for testing activities.
• Perform release testing responsibilities and participate in go-lives.
• Guide project test team members.
• Prepare reports on all aspects related to software testing within project teams.
• Interact with leadership to ensure process optimization and delivery of quality results.
• Help to define and implement software testing strategy within project teams.Help to identify and monitor key performance indicators related to software testing for both individuals and their projects.
• Present and help to lead discussions during QA roundtables and other meetings.
• Thorough knowledge of software testing practices, including test planning and defect management.
• Ability to identify issues in documentation such as ambiguity, redundancy, omission, and inconsistency.
• Ability to perform live demos to the team, management, and stakeholders.
• Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  
  

• 6+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent certification.
• Expertise in test architecture, including custom automated test frameworks, Selenium Framework (C# with SpecFlow preferred), and API testing.
• Extensive experience with Agile/Scrum, test design, SQL for data verification, code quality assurance, and diverse testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to guide and mentor test teams and collaborate effectively with various levels of leadership.
• Knowledge or background in health & welfare plan administration is a plus.
• Milliman AP professional designation (within 12 months, if hired externally.)
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of experience in preparing and executing manual test scripts

• Prior experience with Azure DevOps test plans and test suites
