Software Developer - SDG Data

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to design, develop, and deploy a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Data . This initiative aims to strengthen national data systems, improve statistical infrastructure, and enhance data governance for better monitoring and evaluation of sustainable development frameworks. The consultant will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless integration of the SDG Data Hub into an existing national statistical portal.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Consultation:

Attend project kick-off meetings with relevant stakeholders to establish project goals and deliverables.

Develop and submit an inception report and work plan detailing methodology, timelines, tasks, and expected outputs.

Conduct consultations with stakeholders to gather functional and non-functional requirements for the SDG Data Hub.

Develop a technical specification document and operational process map for the institutions managing the Hub.

Development & Deployment:

Design and develop an interactive SDG Data Hub within an existing statistical portal.

Implement features such as data visualization dashboards, SDG reports, metadata integration, and real-time data access.

Enable automation of data sharing between agencies and ensure seamless data exchange.

Conduct iterative testing, refinements, and validation with key stakeholders.

Deploy the fully operational SDG Data Hub and provide source codes.

User Training & Engagement:

Conduct a one-day training workshop on Hub management, maintenance, and monitoring.

Organize a live webinar for stakeholders and users to demonstrate the platform’s features.

Reporting & Documentation:

Conduct baseline surveys on Hub design satisfaction, monitoring effectiveness, and reporting accuracy.

Submit a final report summarizing project implementation, lessons learned, and recommendations for future enhancements.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in software development, particularly in designing and deploying data-driven platforms.

Expertise in data visualization, dashboard development, and API integrations.

Experience with statistical platforms, open data frameworks, and database management.

Strong understanding of SDG indicators, sustainable development frameworks, and data governance principles.

Experience in user training, technical documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Strong communication and project management skills.
