Software Engineer - Front Line Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer - Front Line Manager to lead our team of software engineers in developing and maintaining our core applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and developing complex solution, managing the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software, and driving technical excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and Spring Boot, as well as hands-on experience with GCP.

What you will do

Team Leadership and Management:

• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, provide performance feedback, and support career development.

• Facilitate team communication and ensure effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Product, DevOps, and QA.

• Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members.

• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Project Management and Delivery:

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

• Work closely with product managers to define project scope, requirements, and priorities.

• Manage project risks, identify and resolve issues, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

• Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies and best practices to improve team efficiency and delivery speed.

Technical Leadership and Guidance:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural principles.

• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends, and identify opportunities to improve our systems and processes.

• Drive innovation and promote the development of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software.

GCP Infrastructure and Deployment:

• Manage and optimize our GCP infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

• Work with DevOps to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.

• Monitor application performance and identify areas for improvement.

• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

What experience you need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in software development with Java.

• 5+ years of experience with Spring and Spring Boot framework.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.

• 2+ years of experience in a management or team lead role, leading a team of software engineers.

• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.

• Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
