Software Engineer - Scala Developer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable APIs and microservices using Scala
• Build data pipelines and transformation tools using Spark and GCP DataProc
• Use Terraform to manage infrastructure provisioning on GCP
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in end-to-end project execution using SAFe Agile methodology
• Manage deployment pipelines using Jenkins and contribute to DevOps automation
• Support code reviews, adhere to coding standards, and ensure code quality
• Provide Level 3 support and maintain environments for development and testing
• Ensure secure and compliant development aligned with Deutsche Bank standards
• Contribute to root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
• Create and maintain deployment documentation, build guides, and release notes

Skills Required:

Must-Have:

• Strong hands-on experience with Scala and Functional Programming principles
• Solid experience in Spark 2.3+ including performance tuning
• Proven experience in GCP (Google Cloud Platform) services and infrastructure automation via Terraform
• Proficient in Java, SQL, and data analytics
• Experience with build tools: SBT, Maven, or Gradle
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Strong understanding of Agile practices and ceremonies
• Experience in developing reusable microservices and generic components
• Familiarity with JUnit and test automation frameworks

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Python, Flask
• Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, Hive, Impala
• Akka-HTTP, Actor Model, WebSockets
• Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm
• Oracle database knowledge

Domain Knowledge:

Must-Have:

• Solid understanding of financial products
• Exposure to risk technology and banking domain (preferred)

Education: BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech/M.Sc (Computer Science or related field)
