As a Software Engineer 3 – Android at eBay, you’ll build and improve the future of mobile commerce. You’ll collaborate with innovative technologies to deliver flawless, data-driven solutions that elevate eBay’s marketplace experience for users worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Build modular, loosely coupled features for eBay's Android application.
- Code Quality: Translate product and build documents into high-quality, crash-free, well-tested, and maintainable production code.
- Testing: Write unit tests and automation code for all features.
- Code Review: Conduct code reviews for your immediate team.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation to support software applications.
- Build Options: Propose and evaluate multiple build options, providing estimates for each.
- Task Management: Structure and complete tasks independently, meeting deadlines and achievements.
- Communication: Effectively communicate assumptions and seek clarification from collaborators.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Java & Kotlin with expertise in Jetpack Compose.
- Understanding of advanced Kotlin language features, coroutines, and lambdas.
- Experience implementing modern platform build patterns.
- Knowledge of testing Android applications using platform tools.
- Proficiency with memory management and dependency management tools like Gradle.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Android mobile development.
- Experience with production monitoring and system development for large-scale consumer mobile applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
