Software Engineer (Cross-border Payments)

About the job:

The RoleWe are looking for Backend Software Engineers with strong Node.js expertise to build and scale our cross-border payments platform. You will work on high-throughput, security-critical backend systems that sit at the intersection of traditional financial infrastructure and blockchain settlement rails.Key Responsibilities:Design and build scalable backend services using Node.jsImplement transaction orchestration logic across blockchain rails, payment partners, and compliance systemsBuild event-driven workflows to manage transaction lifecycle, settlement, reconciliation, and retriesIntegrate with blockchain RPCs, off-chain financial APIs, and third-party service providersCollaborate with product, compliance, and infrastructure teams to ship production-ready featuresWrite clean, testable, and well-documented code suitable for regulated financial environments
Ideal Candidate3+ years of experience building backend systems using Node.jsStrong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScriptExperience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or event-based servicesSolid understanding of asynchronous programming, queues, and message brokersExperience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar)Strong fundamentals in system design, scalability, and performance optimizationExperience working with financial workflowsAbility to work in a globally distributed team, within a fast-growing start-up
