Your Team's Impact
As a Software Engineer on the Acquisition team at FactSet, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our platform architecture, designed to efficiently manage the annual sourcing of millions of documents. Your work in developing innovative features and maintaining robust integration across services will directly contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform. By engaging with cutting-edge technologies like Python and Vue.js, you will help drive the development and maintenance of critical systems, ensuring that our users have access to reliable, efficient, and scalable solutions. Collaborating within an agile framework, your contributions will elevate team practices and foster powerful developmental strategies, helping FactSet maintain its status as a leader in providing vital research and analytical tools to finance professionals.
What You'll Do
- Platform Development: Contribute to the Development and Maintenance of the Acquisition Platform, utilizing Microservice Architecture and UI for the Users to efficiently process the annual sourcing of millions of documents.
- Feature Innovation: Develop new features and user interfaces, supporting continuous improvement and seamless functionality of existing systems.
- Programming and Integration: Work with Python and Vue.js repositories to ensure robust integration, leveraging object-oriented programming principles for effective low-level design supporting high-level architectural frameworks.
- Collaboration: Partner with Product Developers and Stakeholders to map out the technology and business-needs roadmap for projects, operating within an agile framework and utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Quality Assurance: Engage in test-driven development, crafting and reviewing documentation and test plans to thoroughly validate new features and system enhancements.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate effectively with geographically diverse teams, ensuring smooth progression and integration across departments and offices.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a reputable institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in software development, specifically handling systems with application development.
- Technical Proficiency:Strong expertise in Python and AWS for comprehensive application development and system integration.
Familiarity with frontend technologies like Angular, React, or Vue.js to support interface development.
Profound understanding of data structures and algorithms for optimizing performance and efficiency.
Proficiency in object-oriented design principles essential for scalable solutions. - Development and Collaboration Tools: Experience with GitHub-based development processes for effective collaboration and version control.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills essential for developing innovative solutions and platform optimization.
- Communication and Collaboration:Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with geographically diverse teams and key stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage workloads efficiently in a dynamic environment, demonstrating self-direction and resourcefulness.
