Global Business Services

Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview

Prime Brokerage (PB) is line of business which supports various technology delivery solutions to the large PB client base. Within this space, we have suite of applications which calculates Margin and Risk for PB clients.

These applications follows complex flows to derive margin based on the exposure taken by clients. Operations team uses these daily generated reports to make decisions to execute margin calls.

Within PB, is a suite of applications that support the global securities lending business. Features include Trade Capture and Lifecycle Management, Inventory Management, Supply and Demand Management, Pricing and Analytics.

Job Description

The job requires leading, developing and enhancing the Margin and Risk platform. These are all critical high-volume, time-sensitive systems built using diverse technologies. The candidate will get to see a lot of technologies, design paradigms and patterns in action, and get exposure to nitty-gritties of the Prime Brokerage domain. The individual should be well versed with Global Markets concepts (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Rates products) and should be a self-starter.

The individual should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and applications and diverse technologies. The individual will work closely with developers, BA & other team members throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes (Agile methodology) and the QA lifecycle to support business deliveries.

The work involves both, developing and enhancing the platform and optimized performance catering to overgrowing volumes. It requires the ideal candidate to be passionate about and hands-on with technology, be a systematic, logical problem-solver and creative to produce efficient business solutions. It will involve active participation in the system design and architecture along with its implementation, testing and deployment. The ideal candidate would be a fast learner of the business area, someone with good programming acumen, and seasoned enough to work on the projects with minimal hand holding.

Responsibilities

o Design, code and test critical applications using SQL Server, Core Java and Python based bank’s proprietary framework,

o Technical lead position to manage and account for all deliverables from India,

o Work with key stakeholders to ensure that application is functionally appealing

o Liaise with BA\PM’s, desk and all key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations to translate into business solutions

o Provide highly efficient, scalable and high throughput design

o Efficient to maintain platform stability by actively dealing with production issues impacting business

o Adopt agile routines for software delivery cycles

o Produce high quality code and adhere to delivery timeline .

o Learn and adopt tech stack required to maintain, improve platform.

Requirements

Education*

B.E./B.Tech/M.S./M.Tech with good academic scores from top-tier colleges/universities

Certifications If Any- NA

Experience Range- 8 to 12 years of relevant industry experience in required technologies

Foundational skills

• Strong Hands-on experience in Core Java processes with multithreading exposure
• Strong hands-on skills in MS SQL Server (preferred 2016 or beyond)- building/understanding complex queries
• Preferred experience in Python - if not then open to learn
• Strong concepts on Object Oriented Programming, data structures, multithreading
• Good understanding of windows and Linux hosted applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to reverse engineer code.
• Able to grasp large and complex code base.
• Collaborative with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-starter and should work under minimum supervision.
• Innovative to build efficient technology solutions.
• Work experience in global delivery model - interacting with US/EMEA stakeholders.

Desired skills

• Work experience in global markets – prime finance/equities Domain
• Well versed with Global delivery model in Investment bank
