Our global team supports products in electronic health records that introduce students to digital charting and prepare them to document care in today's modern clinical environment. About The Role
This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The position should have the ability to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems including the design of the program flow of individual pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing.
Responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Proven ability to deliver on commitments with a high level of reliability
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Ability to take ownership of complex assignments with moderate oversight
- Proactively identify, prevent, and resolve issues before they impact production
- Participate in and contribute to production support and incident response when required
- Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
- Design and build reusable, scalable solutions that can be adopted across multiple teams and service
- Strong proficiency in Java (backend) with solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
- Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, including service design, inter-service communication, and resilience patterns
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration, using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (e.g. EC2, EKS, RDS, S3) or equivalent public cloud platforms
- Good understanding of software testing strategies, including unit testing, mocking, integration testing, and functional testing
- Working knowledge of at least one data storage technology, SQL or NoSQL (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
- Experience with database design, querying, and basic performance considerations
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Experience with or exposure to migration initiatives, such as moving from monolithic systems to microservices-based architectures, is a plus
