Your Role And Responsibilities

For this position, we are seeking a skilled Mainframe Build & Automation Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize build and packaging processes for our z/OS products.

Responsibilities Include

• Developing, maintaining, and improving ANT scripts, MAKE scripts, and automated build processes for z/OS components.
• Managing and updating build artifacts and configurations across both MVS datasets and GitHub repositories.
• Creating, assembling, and validating SMP/E installation packages—including FMIDs, SYSMODs, and CSI updates.
• Designing and enforcing repeatable, reliable build pipelines to ensure consistent deliverables across development and release environments.
• Writing and maintaining JCL, REXX, and z/OS UNIX shell scripts to automate build, packaging, and deployment tasks.
  
  

The ideal candidate is comfortable bridging traditional mainframe tooling with modern DevOps practices. This role is essential to the quality, consistency, and efficiency of our product build lifecycle and requires close collaboration with development teams.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Hands‑on understanding of SMP/E, scripting and automation, DevOps practices, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and networking
• Proficiency with source control management tools (e.g., Git)
