The Role
The Software Test Engineer ensures quality and performance across large-scale, multi-platform software products, including web applications and backend APIs. We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on engineer with a passion for automation and a deep understanding of backend testing. You will work closely with developers and DevOps teams in a CI/CD-driven Agile environment, adopting shift-left testing strategies and building robust test automation frameworks.

The Role
The Software Test Engineer ensures quality and performance across large-scale, multi-platform software products, including web applications and backend APIs. We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on engineer with a passion for automation and a deep understanding of backend testing. You will work closely with developers and DevOps teams in a CI/CD-driven Agile environment, adopting shift-left testing strategies and building robust test automation frameworks.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable API and UI test automation frameworks
- Collaborate with developers to define and refine test requirements early in the SDLC
- Debug, isolate, and report software issues efficiently and verify fixes
- Create comprehensive software test artifacts (plans, cases, procedures, reports)
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for early and continuous feedback
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure test coverage
- Guide junior team members and share QA best practices
- Contribute to performance testing and analysis for backend services
- 2–4 years in software quality assurance, with a strong emphasis on automation and API testing
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced engineering team
- Design and execute high-level manual test cases for limited/non-automatable scenarios
- Log defects using bug tracking systems like Jira with clarity and accuracy
- Perform targeted regression tests for non-automated workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify test coverage gaps and user scenarios
- Actively contribute in Agile meetings to represent QA interests
- Design, develop, and execute automated API tests using Postman, Rest Assured, or equivalent
- Validate backend service reliability, performance, and correctness
- Champion an automation-first approach across microservices and APIs
- Integrate API test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation
- Maintain and enhance test coverage as APIs evolve over time
- Build and scale UI automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, or Playwright
- Playwright experience is a strong advantage
- Ensure broad UI test coverage for critical user journeys and features
- Seamlessly integrate automated tests with build pipelines for faster releases
- Stay current with emerging tools and trends; proactively suggest enhancements
- Languages: JavaScript, Java
- Testing Tools: Postman, RestAssured, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar
- Tracking: Jira, TestRail (or equivalents)
