Software Tester (Contract - PT)

Overview

We are looking for a contract Software Tester to assist with testing a Chrome extension and its associated web application. This role requires 20 hours per week for the next 2 months and is ideal for someone with experience in manual and automated testing of browser extensions and web-based applications.

The tester will be responsible for identifying bugs, verifying fixes, and ensuring a seamless user experience across different environments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct manual and automated testing on the Chrome extension and associated web application.
• Identify, document, and report bugs, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans to ensure functionality, security, and performance.
• Perform cross-browser compatibility testing and regression testing after updates.
• Work closely with developers and product managers to replicate and resolve issues.
• Ensure the software meets performance, usability, and accessibility standards.
• Provide feedback on UI/UX and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Maintain and update a detailed bug tracker with clear reproduction steps.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in software testing, preferably for Chrome extensions and web applications.
• Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques, with experience in automated testing (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) being a plus.
• Experience testing across multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and operating systems.
• Familiarity with developer tools (Chrome DevTools, console logs, network monitoring) for debugging.
• Experience with bug tracking tools like Jira, Trello, or ClickUp.
• Ability to write clear and concise test cases, bug reports, and documentation.
• Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, Swagger) is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
