Sr. Java Developer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Java technologies, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications while mentoring junior developers and contributing to the overall architecture and best practices of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications and microservices.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements.
• Lead code reviews, provide mentorship, and enforce coding standards.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Work with DevOps teams to automate builds, tests, and deployments using CI/CD tools.
• Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain and enhance existing software systems by identifying and fixing bugs and improving system performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java (Java 8 or higher).
• Strong experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, etc.).
• Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React/Angular) is a plus.
• Experience with version control tools like Git and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
• Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Exposure to message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Working knowledge of testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
