Position Description: Senior Network Architect – GCC PracticeRole Overview And Key Responsibilities
Cognizant seeks a seasoned Senior Network Architect to spearhead the expansion, leadership, and management of Network Solutioning and Architecture for the GCC practice. The incumbent, at a Senior Manager level, will be responsible for providing expert leadership in both network and security domains, delivering strategic guidance and robust operational management to the GCC service line. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven capability to integrate innovation and creativity into strategic planning, with a focus on initiatives that elevate customer experience, strengthen network security, and enhance network operations. Working within a matrixed IT environment, the role requires close collaboration with business unit leaders, IT counterparts, the CIO, Privacy, Internal Audit, Legal, and Compliance teams. This position is dedicated to the GCC Service Line and demands a proactive, hands-on approach to network transformation and solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and solutioning of network architectures and platforms, actively participating in RFPs, customer presentations, and direct client engagements during the GCC build phase.
- Analyse current and future business requirements, translating them into a comprehensive roadmap for network transformation aligned with organisational objectives.
- Assess existing network architectures by reviewing design documents and collecting data from device configurations and performance management tools to inform improvements.
- Take ownership of end-to-end network architecture for GCC clients, ensuring the creation and maintenance of all related documentation, including high-level design artefacts.
- Serve as the subject matter expert to ensure all projects meet stringent security requirements, adhere to industry best practices, and comply with technical design principles and standards.
- Develop solutions across a broad spectrum of network technologies, including Cisco SDA, ACI, SD-WAN, Cisco routers and switches, VMware NSX, Nutanix Cloud networking (Azure/AWS), micro-segmentation, and Zero Trust Architectures.
- Be hands-on during the implementation phase, providing direct support and guidance to networking teams working with GCC clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in network architecture and implementation, with a strong track record in both domains.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of cloud and network architectures, with experience in comprehensive network and security planning.
- Ability to define, assure quality, and design security solution architectures that meet specific project requirements and align with organisational security standards.
- Strong and effective communication skills, with the ability to relay facts and insights to clients and stakeholders continuously.
- Structured problem-solving skills and in-depth industry knowledge to address complex network and security challenges.
- Capability to assess the impact of solution changes on both current and future enterprise architectures.
- Proven delivery experience in network and security architecture projects.
- Ability to lead and facilitate design discussions with diverse stakeholders, driving requirements gathering and solution implementation processes to successful outcomes.
