HEROIC Cybersecurity (HEROIC.com) is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to architect, secure, and manage the networks of HEROIC and our clients. This role blends advanced networking expertise with deep cybersecurity experience to protect and enhance enterprise IT environments. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-grade networks. You will lead projects that strengthen cybersecurity defenses, implement best practices across infrastructure, and ensure compliance with modern security standards.
This position is 100% remote and requires a strong balance of hands-on experience, technical depth, and client-facing communication. CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent network & cybersecurity certifications is required.

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-grade networks. You will lead projects that strengthen cybersecurity defenses, implement best practices across infrastructure, and ensure compliance with modern security standards.

Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance network infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure wireless environments.
- Lead network security initiatives including segmentation, policy enforcement, and hardening.
- Conduct network security audits and vulnerability assessments with detailed reporting.
- Proactively monitor for threats, perform incident response, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, industry frameworks, and client policies.
- Help Deploy, configure, and maintain SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm, Sentinel, etc) to aggregate logs and detect anomalies.
- Perform log analysis, threat hunting, and correlation rule tuning within SIEM systems.
- Help Manage and monitor endpoint protection platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Sophos, EDR/XDR solutions).
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop tailored network and endpoint security solutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on networking and cybersecurity during sales, planning, and strategy sessions.
- Document network architectures, policies, configurations, and processes.
- Manage and lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and compliance regulations.
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience.
- 8-10 years of enterprise networking and infrastructure experience.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Advanced hands-on expertise with firewalls (e.g., Sonicwall, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower), VPNs, routers, and switches
- Deep understanding of network protocols: OSPF, BGP, STP, 802.1x, DNS, DHCP, SIP, and the OSI Model
- Experience deploying and managing IDS/IPS, NAC, and other network security technologies
- Hands-on experience managing SIEM platforms and performing event/log correlation and incident response
- Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR) solutions and centralized endpoint security management
- Strong familiarity with cybersecurity best practices (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, etc.)
- Certifications required: CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CEH, GCFW, GCIH, JNCIP/JNCIE
- Position Type: Full-time
- Location: India. Remote - Work from anywhere you thrive. Occasional travel may be required for client engagements, conferences, or team collaboration.
