About The Team And The Role

TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.

The Data Warehouse team is responsible for ensuring that TCGplayer’s data warehouse has accurate and timely information to support the reporting and analytics needs of the business. Our team prides itself on a culture that fosters camaraderie, embraces diversity, and exudes passion! As a member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in TCGplayer’s data strategy by combining your technical experience in the Data Warehousing space with the ability to take the lead on projects and provide valuable input toward organizational direction.

What You Will Accomplish

• Design, develop, and support data processing pipelines which meet functional requirements, minimize technical debt, and adhere to organizational standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate business objectives into actionable technical requirements
• Design, implement, and maintain data models to support the reporting and analytics needs of the business
• Design, develop, and optimize queries to support data discovery, analysis, and reporting.
• Conduct thorough discovery to identify and address data quality issues, ensuring the data is accurate, complete, accessible for business needs, and properly secured
• Identify and implement performance improvements in data warehousing systems, reducing query times and optimizing resource usage
  
  
  

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience
• 8 years or more experience in designing and implementing data models and data pipelines which are scalable, reliable, and efficient
• Strong skillsets for both data modeling and query design for Snowflake coupled with significant experience in one or more other database technologies, PostgreSQL and MongoDB strongly preferred
• At least moderate experience with dbt or similar tools
• At least moderate experience with implementing and supporting data governance within medium-to-large organizations
• Ability to utilize written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively both within the team and with other teams in the organization
