Overview
Synaptics is seeking a Staff Information Security Analyst to design and implement enterprise security solutions that protect infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. You will architect secure systems, drive technical innovation, and embed best practices, collaborating with IT, Engineering, and business units to align security with strategy. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Chief Information Security Officer.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Lead and collaborate on designing secure infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain enterprise security architecture standards, reference models, and patterns
- Lead and collaborate on evaluating, selecting, implementing, and managing advanced security technologies—including SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel), firewalls, endpoint protection, cloud security, and identity and access management solutions
- Partner with IT, DevOps, and Engineering teams to integrate security into system and software architecture, embedding security throughout the development lifecycle (DevSecOps)
- Drive and participate in technical risk assessments, threat modeling, and security design reviews for new and existing systems
- Guide and coordinate incident response activities related to architectural vulnerabilities and control failures, including investigation, containment, and root cause analysis
- Collaborate on defining and promoting security engineering policies, standards, and procedures
- Lead efforts to develop and monitor metrics for architectural risk, control effectiveness, and overall security posture
- Stay informed on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies; champion initiatives to evaluate and adopt new architectural solutions
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to peers, fostering a collaborative, security-first culture

- Creative problem solver, comfortable with ambiguity and complex technical challenges
- Deep technical expertise in security architecture, engineering, and control frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, etc.)
- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel), and security solutions in enterprise environments and reference architecture
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in Security Architecture or Engineering
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, OSCP, or GIAC are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of enterprise security technologies: firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM, cloud security, identity and access management, vulnerability scanners, etc
- Experience with secure software development practices and DevSecOps is a plus
- 10-15% travel required
