Why We Need You!
Experience: 10+ years in Networking Security, specializing in Windows-based VPN clients, SSL-VPN, IPSec VPN, ZTNA, or NAC solutions.
Role Overview:
As a Staff Engineer – Windows VPN Client Development, you will be a key technical leader in the design, development, and optimization of Ivanti's Secure Access Windows VPN client. You will drive architectural decisions, enhance VPN performance and security, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a best-in-class enterprise VPN solution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Development & Optimization of Ivanti Secure Access Windows VPN Client:
- Architect, design, and implement core components of the Windows VPN client.
- Develop and optimize SSL-VPN, IPSec VPN, Always-On VPN, split tunnelling, and per-app VPN.
- Ensure seamless Windows OS integration, including networking stack and security frameworks.
- Windows System Development & Debugging:
- Develop and maintain Windows-based VPN clients using C++, VC++, and Windows System Programming.
- Debug and optimize kernel-mode and user-mode networking components.
- Enhance driver-level networking (NDIS, TDI, WinSock, Windows Filtering Platform (WFP), TAP/TUN drivers).
- Networking & Security Protocols:
- Implement and optimize SSL/TLS, IPSec, IKEv2, L2TP, WireGuard, OpenVPN protocols for secure communication.
- Work with DHCP, TCP/IP, RADIUS, LDAP, SNMP, and 802.1X for authentication and network access control.
- Enterprise Authentication & Security Integration:
- Develop and enhance multi-factor authentication (MFA), certificate-based authentication, SAML, OAuth, and Kerberos.
- Integrate with Active Directory (AD), RADIUS, and cloud identity providers (Azure AD, Okta, PingID).
- Security Hardening & Vulnerability Management:
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate security vulnerabilities (CVE analysis, patches, and compliance).
- Implement security best practices and conduct testing using Metasploit, BurpSuite, Nessus, ZAP, Qualys, and Black Duck.
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
- Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers and provide architectural guidance.
- Collaborate with backend, cloud, security, and QA teams to ensure a robust VPN solution.
- Work in an Agile environment, driving best practices and continuous improvements.
Required Skills:
✅ Expert-level experience in C++, VC++, and Windows System Programming.
✅Deep understanding of Windows OS internals, networking stack, and performance tuning.
✅ Strong expertise in developing Windows VPN clients and working with NDIS, WinSock, WFP, and driver-level networking.
✅ Hands-on experience with SSL-VPN, IPSec, IKEv2, L2TP, WireGuard VPN protocols.
✅ Extensive knowledge of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, Kerberos, AD, RADIUS, LDAP, MFA).
✅ Proven experience triaging and fixing security vulnerabilities and working with security tools.Preferred Skills (Plus):
➕ Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and cloud-based VPN solutions.
➕ Knowledge of Windows Defender Firewall (WFP), endpoint security, and compliance standards (FIPS, NIST, GDPR, SOC 2).
➕ Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Our Employer Commitment
