About The Role

To realise Confluent’s enormous potential, we are looking for software engineers to grow our internal Continuous Delivery tooling team. This team is responsible for building the process automation capabilities of Confluent Cloud service delivery. Continuous Delivery is a strategic investment area for Confluent, impacting all of the R&D engineers' productivity, our high levels of compliance, and the acceleration of our operational maturity.

We are looking for someone interested in building mission-critical tooling systems, with a focus on internal customer needs. The ideal candidate would be passionate about engineering productivity, reliability, and quality.

What You Will Do

• Lead and drive the technical vision for a continuous deployment technology for more than 1,000 services over a fleet of 5,000+ Kubernetes clusters with 10,000s of nodes.
• We’re multi-cloud (AWS, GCP & Azure) so whilst you’ll work with a Kubernetes platform, you’ll need to consider the multi-cloud landscape.
• This is a hands-on role - you’ll build the (Golang) software tools used by Confluent Cloud teams to deliver their software solutions safely, securely and in a timely manner.
• Envision & execute software projects to deliver complex projects in a production environment with a focus on quality
• Be inspired by industry standard patterns within the problem domain and apply them with creativity for best-in-class solutions
• Have a customer-focused mindset to collaborate with a diverse set of internal customers to meet their requirements
  
  

What You Will Bring

• 12+ years of relevant backend and/or infrastructure development experience.
• Demonstrated history of successful systems design and development.
• Experience building and operating large-scale systems in the cloud.
• Solid understanding at a systems level (disk, network, operating systems, etc).
• A self-starter with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
• Class-leading expertise in Go, C++, Java or other statically typed languages.
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience with container orchestration technology (Kubernetes).
• BS, MS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  
  

What Gives You An Edge

• Experience working on developer productivity tooling
• Hands on experience in Golang /Go Programming Language
• Experience with EKS, GKE and/or AKS distributions
