Role Overview – Staff Software Engineer (Windows App)
As a Staff Engineer, you’ll own core components across the Windows desktop app, C++ SDK, and Flutter-based frontend, collaborating across teams to build scalable, high-performance solutions. You’ll help drive system design, product delivery, and mentoring as part of a fast-growing product organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement C++ SDK modules and Flutter-based desktop interfaces
- Integrate frontend and SDK with backend systems using RESTful APIs
- Optimise performance and resource usage for Windows environments
- Contribute to installer logic, UAC handling, and Windows-native packaging
- Debug complex issues across the stack (frontend, backend, OS level)
- Write robust unit/integration tests and ensure CI/CD readiness
- Collaborate in sprint planning, reviews, and team design sessions
- Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices for modular, testable code
- Document systems and processes for knowledge continuity
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in C++, including Windows SDK or similar SDK development
- Production experience with Flutter for desktop UI
- Experience integrating with REST APIs and working with PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, or other data systems
- Familiarity with Windows dev tools like Visual Studio, MSBuild
- Hands-on experience with Windows Installer technologies (MSI, Inno Setup)
- Understanding of User Account Control (UAC) and Windows privilege models
- Git-based workflows and agile collaboration. Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Win32/COM APIs or Windows-native integration points
- Experience with performance profiling and optimisation
- Contributions to open-source projects (C++ or Flutter preferred)
- Prior work in voice/speech applications or real-time systems
- Knowledge of CI/CD for desktop builds and deployments

About the Employment Model – Direct Employment: You will be hired as a full-time employee of SAMMY, working as part of their internal product and engineering organisation.
