Strategic Cloud Engineer, Business Intelligence, Looker

Overview

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in delivering Business Intelligence/Reporting projects with reports.
• Experience working in Google Cloud Platform and Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Experience with SQL and in Looker including writing and maintaining LookML model.

• Certification in Google Cloud Professional Cloud.
• Experience working in data warehouses, including data warehouse technical architectures and data structures.
• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages like Python, R, etc.
• Knowledge of Looker concepts such as dimensions, measures, Explores, Joins, parameters, templated filters, and Persistent Derived Tables (PDTs).
• Knowledge of Data modelling techniques and their application based on reporting requirements.
• Understanding of liquid syntax, embeddings, live reports, extensions, and blocks and implementing Looker admin, security and user management policies.

As a Strategic Cloud Data Engineer, you will guide customers on how to store, process, analyze, and explore/visualize data on the Google Cloud Platform. You will work on data migrations and modernization projects, and with customers to design large-scale data processing systems, develop data pipelines optimized for scaling, and troubleshoot potential platform/product challenges. You will have an understanding of data governance and security controls. You will travel to customer sites to deploy solutions and deliver workshops to educate and empower customers. Additionally, you will work with Product Management and Product Engineering teams to build and drive excellence in our products.

Responsibilities

• Recommend technical solutions and best practices for customer requirements using Looker functionalities.
• Interact with internal technical stakeholders (Technical Account Manager, Field Sales Representative, Customer Success Managers, etc.) to translate customer requirements into recommendations for appropriate solution architectures and consulting services.
• Help Google cloud customers with current infrastructure assessment, design and architect infrastructure, develop a migration plan and deliver technical workshops to educate them on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work with leading customers and enterprises to identify and offer value of Looker’s product. Structure programs that will deliver impact to enterprises and leverage the best of Looker functionalities.
• Engage with c-suite executives, technical leads and partners to lead migrations to GCP. Participate in technical and design discussions with technical teams to speed up the adoption process and ensure best practices during implementation.
