System Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator with a minimum of 1 years of experience to maintain and optimise our IT infrastructure. In this role, you will focus on system reliability, security, patch management, and overall IT infrastructure health. You will be responsible for ensuring the environment remains secure, compliant, and up-to-date through strategic patching, mitigation, and proactive management practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, optimise, and maintain servers, storage, networking components, and cloud-based services to ensure seamless operation and performance.
• Deploy, manage, and optimise virtualised environments using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and others.
• Administer and manage Windows Server environments (2012-2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
• Develop automation scripts and enhance systems using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
• Manage routers, switches, firewalls, and ensure the smooth operation of LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
• Develop, implement, and oversee robust backup and disaster recovery strategies using solutions like Veeam, Acronis, and Veritas.
• Lead the effort to ensure the timely deployment of security updates and vulnerability remediation.
• Oversee antivirus, firewalls, encryption, and access controls, and ensure patch compliance through regular patch management cycles.
• Utilise RMM tools (e. g., Kaseya VSA, Datto, NinjaOne, ManageEngine, ConnectWise) and ticketing systems (e. g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) to monitor systems, handle incident management, and perform proactive maintenance.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolve system issues in a timely, methodical manner to minimise downtime and system impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain comprehensive documentation for patching procedures, configurations, and best practices.
• Guide and mentor junior staff members on patching protocols, IT best practices, and other technical matters to enhance team knowledge and skills.
• Provide expert troubleshooting support related to Kaseya tools, ensuring effective resolution of issues with monitoring, automation, patching, or system alerts.
  
  

• Windows Server Administration (2012-2022).
• Virtualisation: VMware, Hyper-V, etc.
• Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls.
• Automation and Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
• Patch Management: Experience using WSUS, SCCM, or similar tools.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Veeam, Acronis, Veritas.
• RMM and Ticketing Tools: Kaseya VSA, ManageEngine, Datto, ITGlue, ServiceNow, ConnectWise, etc.
  
  

• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple patching cycles and updates simultaneously.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage technical issues efficiently.
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, BCA, B. Tech, Engineering, or a related field (required).
• Master's Degree: MCA or M. Tech is preferred.
• MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, VCP, CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow System Administrator.
