Overview
Key Responsibilities
- System & Network Administration: Oversee, optimise, and maintain servers, storage, networking components, and cloud-based services to ensure seamless operation and performance.
- Virtualisation Management: Deploy, manage, and optimise virtualised environments using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and others.
- Windows Server Administration: Administer and manage Windows Server environments (2012–2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts and enhance systems using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
- Network Management: Manage routers, switches, firewalls, and ensure the smooth operation of LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop, implement, and oversee robust backup and disaster recovery strategies using solutions like Veeam, Acronis, and Veritas.
- Security & Patch Management: Lead the effort to ensure the timely deployment of security updates and vulnerability remediation. Oversee antivirus, firewalls, encryption, and access controls, and ensure patch compliance through regular patch management cycles.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Utilise RMM tools (e.g., Kaseya VSA, Datto, NinjaOne, ManageEngine, ConnectWise) and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) to monitor systems, handle incident management, and perform proactive maintenance.
- Troubleshooting: Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolve system issues in a timely, methodical manner to minimise downtime and system impact.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain comprehensive documentation for patching procedures, configurations, and best practices.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior staff members on patching protocols, IT best practices, and other technical matters to enhance team knowledge and skills.
- Client Support: Provide expert troubleshooting support related to Kaseya tools, ensuring effective resolution of issues with monitoring, automation, patching, or system alerts.
