Overview
Job SummarySynechron is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Business Analyst to join our FinTech product development team. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for digital payments, wallets, trading systems, and related FinTech platforms. Working within an Agile framework, you will collaborate with product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performance solutions. Your ability to translate complex workflows into technical specifications will be key to driving project success and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Software Requirements
- Required: MS SQL Server, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO), Microsoft Excel, API documentation (JSON, XML)
- Preferred: Data flow diagramming tools, modeling tools, API integration tools, risk management and compliance systems knowledge
- Experience level: 5+ years in a similar Business Analyst or technical analyst role supporting FinTech or enterprise platforms
- Collect, analyze, and clearly document functional and non-functional requirements for FinTech applications and workflows
- Write detailed user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile best practices and ensure they meet “Definition of Ready” standards
- Maintain comprehensive traceability matrices to track requirements across the SDLC and ensure regulatory compliance
- Break down complex workflows into discrete, buildable components using SQL, data flow diagrams, and pseudo-code
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, QA, and development teams to validate and refine requirements and design solutions
- Support Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
- Assist QA and UAT teams to validate features and ensure quality deliverables
- Proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and gaps in compliance or security standards
- Programming Languages:
- Not typically required, but familiarity with SQL and scripting for requirement validation is essential
- Preferred: Basic understanding of APIs (JSON/XML) for requirement discussions
- Databases/Data Management:
- MS SQL Server, data validation, data integration workflows, query writing, and data reconciliation
- Cloud Technologies:
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) for understanding deployment and integration contexts (preferred)
- Frameworks and Libraries:
- Not applicable; focus is on requirement analysis, documentation, and process mapping
- Development Tools & Methodologies:
- Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Agile/Scrum practices, requirement traceability tools
- Security & Compliance:
- Understanding of regulatory standards such as GDPR, AML, KYC, and privacy protocols (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, technical analysis, or system analysis within FinTech, banking, or enterprise platforms
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and process flow analysis
- Familiarity with API integrations, SQL, and data flow modeling
- Experience supporting Agile/Scrum teams in delivering complex projects
- Industry experience in payments, digital wallets, trading, or regulatory reporting is preferred; equivalent experience in large enterprise IT projects also acceptable
- Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to collect and clarify requirements
- Document detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications
- Map workflows, process flows, and data flows using diagrams and pseudo-code
- Maintain and update traceability matrices aligning with project lifecycle stages
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to prioritize, refine, and plan deliverables
- Support testing activities by providing clear requirements and resolving queries during UAT
- Track dependencies, risks, and compliance issues, escalating as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product features and ensure delivery timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, System Analyst, or equivalent within a financial or enterprise environment
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or Business Analysis certifications are advantageous
- Deep understanding of FinTech products, regulatory standards, and data integration processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
