Technical Lead / Lead Software Engineer - Database

Overview

Your role

The Main Responsibilities Are

• Architect and maintain robust database solutions across SQL Server and Azure platforms.
• Design and optimize data models for transactional and analytical workloads.
• Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Lead performance tuning efforts including query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
• Collaborate with solution architects and developers to align database design with business needs.
• Implement best practices for database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Drive automation initiatives for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and SQL developers.
• Stay ahead of emerging cloud-native database technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial
  
  

To succeed, you will need

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in database engineering and SQL development.
• Advanced expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques (ER diagrams, normalization, dimensional modeling).
• Proven experience in query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with SQL development (stored procedures, triggers, views, functions).
• Experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Cosmos DB).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and hybrid architectures.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across functions.
  
  

• • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Preferred certifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Engineer Associate

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco in Pune.
