About Origin Medical Research Lab
Origin Medical Research Lab is the research arm of Origin Medical. Here, we strive to bring together the best and brightest minds at the intersection of AI and healthcare to fulfil Origin Medical’s mission.
By combining the knowledge of healthcare and AI, it is on a journey to build state-of-the-art solutions aimed at supporting a broad spectrum of healthcare providers in rural and urban communities, allowing them to practice at the top of their licenses. With AI in the imaging workflow, clinicians can more confidently deliver timely interventions, enhance pregnancy outcomes, identify high-risk pregnancies to reduce maternal mortality, and significantly lower infant mortality rates.
Origin Medical, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, is driven by a mission to advance maternal health equity by improving access to quality prenatal care with artificial intelligence.
About the Technical Project Manager
The Technical Project Manager at Origin Medical Research Lab plays a critical role in turning innovative ideas into impactful healthcare technology. You will ensure that high-stakes software initiatives, particularly in prenatal imaging and maternal health, are delivered efficiently, safely, and with maximum impact.
In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, clinical, and regulatory teams to guide projects from concept to completion. You will translate complex business needs into practical technical solutions, manage trade-offs, and ensure alignment across multiple stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology and people, thrives in a dynamic environment, and takes ownership of delivering meaningful outcomes in regulated and high-stakes domains.
What will you do?
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technical projects, coordinating across product, engineering, QA, clinical, regulatory, and operations teams.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Partner with engineers on technical decisions, backlog prioritisation, dependencies, architecture, debugging, and production issues—not just status reporting.
- Track progress against milestones and KPIs, proactively identify risks, and resolve challenges.
- Communicate project updates, dependencies, and potential blockers clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Apply Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban) to support efficient, transparent workflows.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, security requirements, and healthcare regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and manage resources, timelines, and budgets effectively.
- Work with external vendors or partners when required.
- Support post-project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
- A master’s or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
- 7-10 years of experience in technical project/program management, product management, software development, or IT delivery roles.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end software delivery across multiple functions, not just project coordination.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, system architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience collaborating with engineers on trade-offs, design decisions, debugging, and production issues.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Comfortable working in high-stakes or regulated domains (healthcare, medical devices, etc.) and able to incorporate compliance and risk constraints into project planning.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to align cross-functional teams and drive decisions under uncertainty.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
