Techno Functional Business Analyst - Retail Banking

Overview

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure requirements are testable, complete, and aligned with QA strategy.
• Identify requirement gaps, dependencies, and risks impacting testing.
  
  

• Work closely with QA leads and testers to define test scope, test scenarios, and coverage.
• Review and validate test cases to ensure accurate representation of business rules.
• Maintain Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) and ensure full test coverage.
  
  

• Provide end-to-end functional walkthroughs to QA teams.
• Interpret data models, API behaviour, logs, and integration workflows for QA support.
• Address functional queries raised during test execution.
  
  

• Identify automation-eligible scenarios based on business criticality and stability.
• Provide functional logic, data flows, and validation rules to automation teams.
• Review automation scripts for functional accuracy.
  
  

• Analyse backend data using SQL or logs to validate scenarios.
• Support creation of business-accurate test data for all testing phases.
• Understand upstream/downstream system flows and integration impacts.
  
  

• Participate in daily defect triage meetings with QA, Dev, and Product teams.
• Classify defects based on root cause — functional, data, integration, or environment.
• Assess business impact and help prioritise critical defects.
  
  

• Prepare UAT scenarios aligned with real-life business workflows.
• Provide functional support to business users during UAT.
• Validate results and support UAT sign-off.
  
  

• Ensure all requirement and QA artefacts meet audit and compliance standards.
• Support release readiness checks, risk documentation, and quality reports.
• Contribute to improving defect leakage, OTD %, OQD %, and quality KPIs.
  
  

• Liaise between business teams, developers, QA, and operations for requirement and testing alignment.
• Present requirement updates, functional impacts, and testing outcomes.
• Maintain clear communication across all phases of the SDLC.
  
  

• Identify opportunities for process automation, optimisation, and quality enhancement.
• Recommend improvements to test processes, documentation, and system workflows.
• Support initiatives to reduce backlog, failure %, and enhance test efficiency.
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Business Analysis
  
  

• Additional course or certification in Business Analysis.
