JD - QA Manager

Role Summary

The QA Manager owns quality strategy, automation effectiveness, and release confidence for a growing SaaS platform. This role balances people leadership, technical depth, and business risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve end-to-end QA & automation strategy
• Lead Manual QA + SDETs across multiple product teams
• Own release readiness, sign-off, and quality metrics
• Drive shift-left testing and reduce escaped defects
• Ensure automation is high-value, stable, and scalable
• Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Support
• Hire, mentor, and grow QA & SDET talent
  
  

Automation Expectations

• Hands-on capability to write & review automation code
• Personally codes occasionally to:
• Unblock teams
• Set standards
• Validate approaches
• NOT expected to be a daily automation IC
  
  

• 10–14 years in QA / Quality Engineering
• 4–6 years in QA leadership roles
• Strong automation knowledge (UI + API)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• SaaS, Agile, and cloud-native experience
  
  

Nice to Have

• Performance testing exposure
• Security testing awareness
• Experience scaling QA teams
