Windows System Administrator

About the job:

We have an open position for a Windows System Administrator to work from our Kolkata HO, as per the responsibilities.


Key responsibilities:

1. Monitor and maintain Windows Server OS and additional server components, including but not limited to IIS, SMTP Services, Active Directory, SQL Server, and ASP.NET hosted applications.
2. Work with networking concepts like NAT, VLAN, and OS networking
3. Working knowledge of any Email Server and supported clients (Outlook, WebApp, etc.) and mail concepts (IMAP, SMTP, etc.)
4. Understanding of IIS 7/8, SSL concepts, IIS load balancing, application pool management, and ASP.NET troubleshooting.
5. Work with MS SQL Server Administration and its key features (installation, DB/user creation, DB backups, and restore.
6. Apply patches to major subsystems and services, roles, and filesystem components within a Windows Systems environment.
7. Work with PowerShell or Command Shell commands.
8. Monitor and review system logs, and detect and troubleshoot problems.
9. Document troubleshooting activity and service implementation.
10. Work remotely to provide 24x7 support on critical systems.
11. Establish and maintain suitable resource and performance monitoring on all systems.
12. Provide technical support and customer service directly to end-users through the ticketing system and periodically through screen sharing.
13. Virtualisation on HyperV/VMware or similar solutions

Skills required:

Other Requirements:

1. At least 2+ years of Windows Server 2016/2019 OS management.

2. Hands-on Windows OS setup and management experience.

3. Experience in effective communication and collaborating in a team environment

4. Experience providing technical support in a customer service role.

5. Experience writing technical documentation for a technical audience

6. Able to respond and troubleshoot during off-hours in a 24x7 environment.

7. Completion of at least one Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP) is desirable.
