Job Title: System Administrator III (Windows, VMWare)

Reports to: IT Manager

Resource Type: Employee

Job Location: Mumbai, India

Shifts: Rotational (24*7)

Key Responsibilities

Virtualization Platforms:

• VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix:
• Design and Implementation: Architect and deploy virtual environments to meet business requirements.
• Security Best Practices: Implement and maintain security measures to protect virtual infrastructure.
• New Builds: Plan and execute the creation of new virtual environments.
• Upgrades and Patching: Regularly update and patch virtualization software to ensure stability and security.
• Capacity Planning and Optimization: Analyze resource usage and optimize virtual environments for performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues related to virtualization platforms.
• High Availability Solutions: Implement and manage solutions to ensure continuous availability of virtual environments.
  

Disaster Recovery And Backup Solutions

• Zerto:
• Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy disaster recovery solutions to safeguard data.
• Security Best Practices: Ensure disaster recovery processes adhere to security standards.
• Training and Documentation: Provide training to team members and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• New Builds: Set up new disaster recovery environments as needed.
• Upgrades and Patching: Keep disaster recovery solutions updated and patched to ensure reliability.
  

Security And Access Management

• Secret Server:
• Upgrades and Patching: Regularly update and patch Secret Server to maintain security.
• Support System Team: Assist the system team with support tasks as required.
• Active Directory:
• Support Systems Team: Assist the system team with support tasks as required.
  
  

Networking And Compute Infrastructure

• Cisco Intersight, Cisco UCS, Cisco Compute, Cisco Fabric Interconnect:
• Configuration and Management: Set up and manage network and compute infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor performance and address any issues that arise.
• Security Measures: Implement security protocols to protect network and compute infrastructure.
• Capacity Planning and Optimization: Plan for future resource needs and optimize current infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Upgrades: Coordinate with network and security teams to upgrade infrastructure components.
• Server Hardware:
• Replacement Solutions for EOL/EOS Hardware: Identify and implement solutions for end-of-life/end-of-service hardware.
• Capacity Planning: Ensure server hardware meets current and future capacity requirements.
  

Operating Systems

• Windows Server, Linux (various distributions):
• Support Systems Team: Assist the system team with support tasks as required.
  

Automation And Scripting

• PowerShell, Python, Ansible:
• Development and Maintenance: Create and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  
  

Endpoint Management

• BigFix:
• Support Systems Team: Assist the patch team with support tasks as required.
  
  

Innovations And Opportunities

• Monitoring: Continuously explore opportunities to improve monitoring solutions.
• Automation and Scripting: Continuously explore opportunities to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• DUO Authentication Proxy: Deploy new DUO Authentication Proxy for secure access. Assist the systems team with support tasks as required.
• Applications: Assist various teams with support tasks.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve critical incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
• Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain detailed documentation of systems and processes, and share knowledge with the team.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for support, maintenance, and evaluation of new technologies.
• Project Work: Design, configure, implement, and test IT compute and storage solutions to address complex technical and business requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications are desired and considered a plus.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• Additional certifications in Nutanix, Cisco, or other relevant technologies

Experience

• Extensive experience with virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix).
• Strong background in security and access management (Active Directory).
• Hands-on experience with compute infrastructure (Cisco Intersight, Cisco UCS, Cisco Compute, Cisco Fabric Interconnect).
• Proficiency in managing Windows Server and various Linux distributions.
