Enterprise Business Services is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, Associate Digital Experience. We are part of the Compensation and Benefits Platform in Walmart EBS People tech. We work to provide world class benefits and pay to more than 2.1 M Walmart associates.

Team is looking for a strong Distinguished Software Engineer who will drive building next generation Walmart suite of products and platform by designing, building and deploying highly scalable and robust cloud based solutions. The role is expected to make a difference to the products in terms of the design and contribute towards identifying technical risks and find alternate solutions to various problems. In addition to that, the role also demands to lead, motivate, mentor and provide ample guidance to the other team members with respect to technical challenges.

What you'll do:

This is a vital role with significant growth prospect. You will have work to do from day one and you will be counted on to create opportunities that aligns with the overall organization goals. Some of this role key responsibilities are but not limited to:

• System Design and Scalability: Architect complex software systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability needs are met. Lead technology transformation to Mciroservices architecture
• Architectural guidance in building end-to-end data platform powering customer and stakeholder facing advanced analytics
• Technical Guidance and Mentoring: Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, DevOps, and engineering.
• Code Review and Standards: Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices through thorough code reviews.
• Innovation and Research: Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, conducting research to identify emerging tools and methodologies.
• Project Management and Delivery: Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with architectural goals.
• Collaborative Communication: Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, promoting a culture of open communication and collaboration.
  
  

• Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery of software products with a large user base.
• Experience designing and operating Microservices at scale
• Experience in building Agentic AI solutions using LLM models, Langraph, Langchain frameworks, using Gen AI productivity tools like Github Copilot, Codium
• Experience in data platforms and analytics
• Prior hands-on experience in Java, Spring, ORMs, REST APIs
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, Caching (scaling to global customer base)
• Experience with frontend architecture and tech stack (react.js, react.native, node.js) is a big plus
• Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of distributed technologies, public cloud technologies, scalable platforms, full stack development, Generative AI, and Operational Excellence.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
• Business acumen; combining technical vision with business insights.
