We are looking for an experienced Android HMI Developer who is passionate about building state-of-the-art infotainment applications for next-gen vehicles. This role demands a strong grasp of Android application development with a focus on automotive HMI systems. Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Android HMI Developer who is passionate about building state-of-the-art infotainment applications for next-gen vehicles. This role demands a strong grasp of Android application development with a focus on automotive HMI systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, system engineers, and platform developers to deliver world-class user experiences in vehicles.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Android-based HMI applications tailored for automotive infotainment systems.
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to implement visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces using modern Android toolkits like Jetpack Compose.
- Translate business requirements and design mockups into functional, high-performance applications.
- Optimize application performance and memory usage for embedded environments.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Integrate and test features with real automotive hardware and simulators.
- Strong hands-on experience in Android application development using Java and Kotlin, specifically in the automotive domain.
- In-depth knowledge of Android application components such as Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Proficiency in Jetpack Compose, Material Design, and latest Android development paradigms.
- Skilled in using Android Studio IDE for end-to-end application development and debugging.
- Proficient with Android debugging tools such as logcat, ADB, and Systrace.
- Sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS) principles.
- Familiarity with common design patterns including MVP, MVVM, Observer, and Factory.
- Understanding of Android internal framework components and lifecycle management.
- Experience with integrating third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs into Android applications.
- Working knowledge of jUnit, Espresso, and other Android test automation frameworks.
- Understanding of Gradle build scripts and Android Makefiles (good to have).
- Exposure to AOSP build systems, Gerrit code review, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment with Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
