Your future duties and responsibilities

CGI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable API and Kafka-based solutions. This role will be critical in ensuring the efficient and reliable flow of data across our systems, enabling real-time data processing and integration. You will be responsible for designing and implementing Kafka-based data pipelines, developing APIs, and ensuring the overall architecture meets business requirements and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

API Design and Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.
• Create and maintain API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure API standards are followed.
• Ensure API performance, scalability, and security.
  
  

Kafka Modeling and Architecture:

• Design and implement Kafka-based data pipelines for real-time data streaming.
• Model data structures and Kafka topics for efficient data processing.
• Design and implement Kafka Connectors for data integration.
• Ensure Kafka cluster performance, scalability, and availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Kafka-related issues.
  
  

Data Integration:

• Design and implement solutions for integrating data from various sources using Kafka.
• Ensure data consistency and quality across different systems.
  
  

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• Minimum 10+ years' experience in API and Kafka modeler, JSON schema creation, API Swagger creation.
• Strong SQL/Unix knowledge.
• Good to have Big Data/Hadoop experience.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
  

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or higher.
