Automation Test Engineer - Software Quality Assurance

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with over 5 years of experience to join our fast-paced team. This role requires someone who can take complete ownership of the QA automation strategy-setting up robust test workflows from scratch and ensuring they scale with our rapidly evolving products. You will be responsible for developing end-to-end automation across various modules, including login workflows, payment processing, user sessions, backend services, APIs, and full-stack application behavior across both web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate is not just hands-on with automation tools, but also deeply understands the importance of test architecture, maintainability, and thorough coverage across every layer of the system.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from scratch using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit.
• Set up and manage complete test workflows, including strategy, architecture, tools, and reporting.
• Write robust test scripts for Web, API (using REST Assured), and Mobile testing (Appium with Java).
• Perform frontend testing including UI validation, cross-browser testing, accessibility, and visual regression.
• Build and maintain test coverage across application layers: frontend, backend, and APIs.
• Ensure functional, regression, end-to-end, and integration testing is executed efficiently to support rapid release cycles.
• Validate payment and login modules for transaction flows, security, session handling, and error management.
• Conduct performance, load, security, and compatibility testing across various platforms.
• Analyze failures, debug issues, and create detailed bug reports.
• Integrate test suites with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automated execution.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to build effective, maintainable, and scalable testing strategies.
• Continuously enhance automation practices and maintain test environments for reliability and speed.
  
  

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in test automation using Java.
  
  

Deep hands-on knowledge of :

• TestNG or JUnit
• Selenium WebDriver
• REST Assured for API testing
• Appium for mobile automation (Android/iOS)
• Maven/Gradle, Git, and Jenkins or other CI tools
• Proven ability to architect test systems from scratch and own the QA process end-to-end.
• Experience in testing high-scale consumer applications with frequent release cycles.
• Strong understanding of STLC, Agile practices, and test lifecycle management.
  
  

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with test reporting tools like Allure or ExtentReports.
• Familiarity with JMeter or other performance/load testing tools.
• Exposure to BDD frameworks like Cucumber (with Java).
• Knowledge of cloud-based testing tools like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
