Overview
We are hiring a Testing Lead – Automation (Playwright) to lead our quality engineering efforts by owning the automation strategy, Playwright framework, and release quality gates. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to ensure fast, reliable releases through robust test automation and strong QA governance.
Responsibilities
- Own the test automation roadmap and define coverage goals (smoke/regression/E2E) aligned to business risk.
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable Playwright automation framework (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions/Jenkins) with tagging, parallel runs, retries policy, and reporting.
- Lead test planning for releases/sprints: ensure clear acceptance criteria and traceability to stories.
- Drive defect prevention and RCA: reduce flaky tests, improve stability, and enhance signal-to-noise.
- Provide quality metrics and release readiness updates (test status, coverage, defect trends, risks).
- Mentor QA engineers, enforce standards, and lead code reviews for automation.
- Strong hands-on experience in Playwright automation (E2E), TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Proven ownership of test automation frameworks and best practices (test pyramid, maintainability).
- CI/CD experience running automated tests and generating actionable reports.
- Solid understanding of web application testing, debugging, and test data handling.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- API testing experience (REST), performance basics (k6/JMeter), security testing awareness.
- Docker/container-based test execution; experience with Azure ecosystem and monitoring tools.
- Reliable Playwright suite with strong coverage of critical user journeys.
- Reduced regression time and improved release confidence through automation in CI/CD.
- Lower flaky test rate and improved defect leakage metrics.
- Clear, consistent quality reporting and governance across teams.
