Azure Architect – Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and drive cloud strategy and transformation roadmaps focused on Microsoft Azure.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) tailored to business and technical needs.

• Lead end-to-end cloud migration engagements, including:
• Application assessments and migration planning.
• Lift-and-shift (rehosting), refactoring, rearchitecting, and rebuilding strategies.
• Data center exit and legacy system modernization.
• Conduct cloud readiness assessments, migration wave planning, and workload prioritization.
• Manage migration factory models and support tool-based automation using Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and third-party tools.
• Oversee implementation of Azure solutions and lead technical delivery teams.
• Review architecture blueprints and validate compliance with cloud best practices and enterprise standards.
• Establish cloud governance frameworks including security, identity, policy management, and compliance.
• Act as the trusted advisor to client executives and technology stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical topics into strategic business conversations.
• Present architectural recommendations and migration plans to executive leadership.
• Support cloud solutioning, RFP responses, and client proposals.
  

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years in IT, with at least 5+ years in Azure cloud architecture and enterprise solution design.
• Hands-on experience in leading large-scale Azure cloud migration projects.
• In-depth knowledge of:
• Azure Compute, Storage, Networking, Azure AD, App Services, AKS, Azure DevOps
• Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Database Migration Service (DMS)
• IaC tools such as ARM, Bicep, Terraform
• Strong understanding of cloud-native design principles, security, identity, and networking.
• Experience with modernization approaches such as containerization, microservices, and serverless.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with hybrid cloud models and tools (e.g., Azure Arc, Azure Stack).
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP platforms and multi-cloud integration patterns.
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation.
• Experience with cost management and cloud optimization (FinOps).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD automation.
• TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certifications.
