Role Overview

UST is seeking an Azure Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience in ETL development and Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data ingestion, transformation, and troubleshooting within the Azure ecosystem, ensuring smooth operations of data pipelines and warehouse solutions.

Key Responsibilities

✅ ETL Development & Data Integration:

• Develop and manage ETL pipelines to ingest data from Data Lake to Data Warehouse using Azure services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Pipelines, Data Factory, and Azure Synapse PolyBase.
• Establish and maintain seamless connectivity between Azure services (ADLS, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory).
  
  

✅ Pipeline Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Schedule, monitor, and debug pipelines through Azure Monitor and other monitoring tools.
• Handle pipeline failures, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to provide status updates and solutions.
  
  

✅ Data Processing & Optimization

• Write and optimize Spark/PySpark code for data transformation.
• Perform Unit and Integration testing for developed pipelines and code.
• Write and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data processing.
  
  

✅ DevOps & Best Practices

• Familiarity with Git/Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Adhere to coding best practices and ensure high performance and reliability of data solutions.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

✔️ 5+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Engineering.

✔️ Strong ETL development skills with Azure Synapse Pipelines, Data Factory, and PolyBase.

✔️ Proficiency in Azure cloud services (ADLS, Synapse Analytics, Azure Monitor).

✔️ Experience in troubleshooting pipeline failures and handling production support.

✔️ Hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark for data transformation.

✔️ Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and stored procedures.

✔️ Familiarity with Git/Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD processes
