About The Role
The Reaxys team is searching for a self-driven and enthusiastic programmer with a passion for tailored and highly optimized software in the chemistry domain. You will be part of an agile development team supporting and continuously improving our chemical structure search to fulfill our customers’ needs. You will be able to contribute and expand your expertise and skills in a variety of career paths at Elsevier. Our team stretches across China, India, Europe, the UK and the US and relying on a well-developed network of industry leaders, partners, and suppliers.
The Reaxys team has flexible working opportunities since 2014 and this position is based in Bengaluru, India where you will be working with the India and Frankfurt teams consisting of experienced professionals from diverse background.

Responsibilities
- Understand and continuously extend the existing code base
- Write code and automated tests to match detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
- Be an active member of the agile team, contributing to ceremonies and team decision making
- Work closely with product owners and other stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries
- Hands on experience C/C++ software engineering including being familiar with standard libraries, e.g. Boost, and tools, e.g., GDB or GNU compiler
- Basic chemistry domain knowledge
- Familiar with GitHub source control and Trunk based development
- Fluent English oral and written communication skills
- The ability and passion to work in a diverse team
- Around 2 years of software engineering experience
- A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in computer science, or chemistry with very strong and proven C/C++ programming skills
- Experience or training in Linux
- Experience of training in Bash, Perl, or Python
- Experience or training in AWS
- Knowledge of Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence
