Job Description
Cloud Engineer:
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team. You will assist in cloud migration projects, manage cloud infrastructure, and support DevOps practices while ensuring security and compliance. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their expertise in cloud technologies and contribute to the success of our cloud initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Migration Support:
Assist in planning and executing cloud migration projects from on-premises environments to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
Support the assessment of existing on-premises infrastructure and applications for migration readiness.
Participate in lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecture migration activities.
Help ensure minimal downtime and data loss during migration processes.
Use cloud migration tools and services (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine) under the guidance of senior engineers.
Develop and maintain basic automation scripts (primarily Python) for infrastructure provisioning and migration tasks.
Collaborate with application development teams to understand application requirements and support migration efforts.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Assist in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure to support scalable and highly available applications.
Learn and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
Support optimization of cloud resources for cost, performance, and scalability.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and applications under supervision.
DevOps Practices (Basic Familiarity):
Assist in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
Support automation of deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, or similar technologies.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.
Learn and contribute to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of applications.
Network, Security & Compliance:
Demonstrate basic knowledge of on-premises networking, including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
Support the implementation of hybrid cloud solutions that integrate on-premises and cloud environments.
Assist in implementing cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
Learn and contribute to compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
Monitor and respond to basic security incidents and threats under guidance.
Collaboration and Learning:
Work closely with cross-functional teams such as managed services, delivery, and presales.
Learn from and support senior engineers and team members.
Document processes and contribute to knowledge base articles.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices
Requirements
Desired Skills and Expertise:
2-4 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud engineering.
Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) on at least one platform.
Familiarity with Linux system administration, including command-line tools and scripting
Cloud networking & security knowledge (basic understanding): virtual networks, routing, security, monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Foundational scripting skills (Python), with experience in automating infrastructure tasks.
Exposure in cloud migration tools and services (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine).
Basic knowledge with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates) is a plus.
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Basic knowledge on implementing Observability Platforms
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Highly team oriented & practices collaboration as a key to success
Self motivated and able to work to independently with minimal supervision
Good to have certification on any cloud platform.
