Data Architect – Azure & Microsoft Stack

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect with deep expertise in the Azure and Microsoft

ecosystem to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade data solutions across hybrid

environments.

You will play a pivotal role in defining the data architecture strategy, leading complex data

initiatives, and ensuring our data platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with business

objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

● Design and implement end-to-end data architectures leveraging Azure cloud and

on-premises Microsoft technologies.

● Develop data strategy, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure data

consistency, integrity, and availability.

● Create and maintain data models, architecture diagrams, and documentation for

enterprise-wide visibility.

● Evaluate and recommend modern data platforms, tools, and integration patterns

within the Microsoft ecosystem.

● Ensure architectural designs align with business priorities, scalability, and performance

goals.

Technical Leadership

● Lead the design and deployment of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics

platforms using:

o Azure Synapse Analytics

o Azure Data Lake Storage

o Azure SQL Database

o Azure Databricks

● Architect hybrid solutions integrating on-premises SQL Server with Azure services.

● Design ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and related technologies.

● Oversee data security, privacy, and compliance implementations (GDPR, ISO, SOC, etc.).

● Optimize database performance and establish backup, DR, and monitoring frameworks.

Project Management & Delivery

● Lead data architecture projects from concept to production, ensuring quality and timely

delivery.

● Collaborate with project managers to define scope, timelines, and deliverables.

● Manage risks, track dependencies, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

● Guide cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business partners.

Business Partnership

● Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate data needs into

technical designs.

● Present architectural recommendations and insights in business-friendly language.

● Conduct architecture reviews and drive data-driven decision-making across

departments.

● Stay ahead of emerging Azure, data, and analytics trends to recommend innovative

solutions.
