The Data Scientist will support and lead analytics initiatives within the supply chain, logistics, and transportation domains. This role is responsible for developing analytical models, generating insights, and enabling process partners through effective use of advanced analytics tools and techniques. The position is based in Bangalore and reports to the Analytics Manager.
- Support and/or lead analytics projects in supply chain, logistics, transportation, and data science domains.
- Apply strong technical and domain knowledge to build models, analyze datasets, and deliver actionable business insights.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the analytics function to enhance tools, processes, and methodologies.
- Perform data purification, ETL workflows, and prepare high quality datasets for modeling and decision support.
- Develop clear, compelling visualizations and presentations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate across functions to understand business challenges and design analytical solutions.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed based on project requirements.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and transportation concepts.
- Strong hands on expertise in Python, including the ability to build robust data science, ML, AI, and optimization models.
- Proficiency in SQL and/or SAS.
- Experience with ETL/data preparation and generating insights for business reviews.
- Exposure to supply chain or transportation modeling tools (e.g., Supply Chain Guru, Blue Yonder Transportation Modeler, or similar).
- Added advantage: Knowledge of AI/ML/optimization techniques and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields. MBA in Operations preferred.
- 2–6 years of experience in network design, transportation, optimization & simulation, machine learning, or AI.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL/SAS, with at least one independent project successfully completed.
- Experience using MS Office and standard statistics/data visualization tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team settings with high attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic working knowledge of supply chain optimization tools (e.g., BY Transportation Modeler, Supply Chain Guru, or similar).
- Experience developing data science solutions in Python (ML, AI, Optimization).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Additional Info:
This position will require travelling about 10% of the time.
