Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Test Engineer with strong expertise in BigQuery, SQL, and QA methodologies to ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of our data systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and automating test cases using Python/PyTest. A strong understanding of cloud-based testing, API testing, and performance testing tools is essential.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Test Engineer with strong expertise in BigQuery, SQL, and QA methodologies to ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of our data systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and automating test cases using Python/PyTest. A strong understanding of cloud-based testing, API testing, and performance testing tools is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute SQL and BigQuery test cases to validate data integrity, ETL processes, and reporting logic.
- Write complex SQL queries using CTEs, recursive queries, window functions, and advanced joins for data validation.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts in Python/PyTest for database and API testing.
- Perform performance testing using JMeter and validate API responses using Postman/Swagger.
- Conduct UI automation testing using Selenium/Protractor (if required).
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to identify test scenarios and troubleshoot data issues.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA and ensure timely resolution.
- Work in Linux/Cloud environments (GCP/AWS) for test execution and debugging.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance for large-scale datasets.
- Very Strong SQL & BigQuery expertise (CTEs, recursive queries, window functions, query optimization).
- Hands-on experience in Python & PyTest for test automation.
- Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable).
- Knowledge of JMeter (performance testing), Postman, Swagger (API testing), Selenium/Protractor (UI testing).
- Familiarity with Linux commands and shell scripting.
- Experience in JIRA for test case and defect management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of QA best practices, test frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL testing.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark).
- ISTQB or similar QA certification.
