Roles and Responsibilities
About the Role We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Senior Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer with a strong background in cloud automation, configuration management, and scripting. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager, with strong hands-on scripting capabilities in Python, Shell, and Jinja2 templates. A robust understanding of Ansible for provisioning and configuration management is essential.
Key Responsibilities -
- Design and implement IaC solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and GCP Deployment Manager.
- Develop reusable, modular IaC templates for multi-region, multi-account environments.
- Collaborate with platform teams to define infrastructure requirements.
- Build automation workflows using Ansible (playbooks, roles, modules).
- Write robust Python and Shell scripts for automation. - Use Jinja2 to dynamically generate configuration files or templates.
- Integrate IaC with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Monitor and troubleshoot provisioning issues.
- Document IaC standards, workflows, and reusable modules.
Required Skills & Experience IaC Tools:
- Terraform (modules, backends, workspaces, remote state)
- AWS CloudFormation
- GCP Deployment Manager
Cloud Platforms:
- AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, etc.)
- GCP (GCE, VPC, IAM, etc.)
Scripting:
- Python (custom scripts, CLI tools)
- Shell scripting (Bash)
- Jinja2 templates
Configuration Management:
DevOps Tools:
- Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI/GitHub Actions
- Terraform Cloud - Secret managers
Soft Skills:
- Mentoring junior engineers - Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect.
- GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Pulumi, Packer, or Spacelift.
