DevOps Engineer – GitLab CI/CD & Jenkins Migration Specialist

We are seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer with expertise in GitLab and Jenkins to work on a migration from Jenkins to GitLab CI/CD. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Jenkins (including Groovy scripting) and be proficient in GitLab CI/CD, with the ability to convert Groovy-based Jenkins pipelines into GitLab YAML-based workflows using Python where necessary. This role will focus on automating software delivery, optimizing CI/CD processes, and ensuring a smooth transition to GitLab.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate Pipelines from Jenkins to GitLab CI/CD, ensuring minimal disruption to development workflows.
• Analyse and convert Jenkins Groovy scripts into GitLab YAML pipelines, leveraging Python for scripting where needed.
• Optimize and maintain GitLab runners, configurations, and repository structures.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure seamless adoption of GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD failures, pipeline inefficiencies, and integration challenges.
• Implement GitLab security best practices (code scanning, access controls, compliance checks).
• Monitor pipeline performance and improve build/test/deployment efficiency.
• Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and automation.
• Strong expertise in Jenkins (Groovy scripting) and GitLab CI/CD.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Familiarity IAC Tools such as Terraform, ARM or CloudFormation
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Certification in GitLab, AWS/Azure and Kubernetes desirable
