We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong Linux Administration skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment. You will also be managing and optimizing Linux servers, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.
This role requires a blend of systems administration expertise and automation skills, making it ideal for someone who is passionate about both Linux and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong Linux Administration skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment. You will also be managing and optimizing Linux servers, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.
This role requires a blend of systems administration expertise and automation skills, making it ideal for someone who is passionate about both Linux and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable infrastructure in cloud and on-premise environments.
- Maintain, configure, and optimize Linux-based systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) to ensure high levels of performance and security.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process for various environments (development, staging, production).
- Automate infrastructure management tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, security, and scalability through tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Manage and administer containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth deployments.
- Implement security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability assessment, and system hardening.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiencies.
- Manage version control systems (e.g., Git) and automate build and deployment processes.
- Ensure proper documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Linux administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud infrastructure tools.
- Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.
- Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar languages) to automate tasks and processes.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience in network and security best practices, including firewall configurations, VPNs, and secure SSH management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues in production environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with load balancing, DNS management, and other network services.
- Certification in AWS, Azure, or Linux administration is a plus.
