Introduction to role

Join our Digital Lab Platform team within R&D IT to drive innovation in a leading pharmaceutical company. As the Technical Lead, you'll oversee the technical delivery of the Digital Lab portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals. You'll bring to bear your technical expertise to lead and coordinate across a broad landscape including Software Engineering, microservices, AWS serverless architecture, and SaaS products while working closely with partners.

Accountabilities

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business analysts to define and drive the technical vision, ensuring alignment with product objectives and business needs.
• Maintain detailed technical designs, refine user stories, and manage technical risks and resource allocation.
• Drive for consistency of technology and design across the landscape - re-use, simplification, and standard patterns.
• Lead and mentor technical teams for improved automation and security, and foster collaboration and innovation.
• Define and communicate governance frameworks for product development, including risk management and performance metrics.
• Working with solution architects, oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and deployment processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data security, and industry standards.
• Direct DevOps teams to ensure best practices in coding, security, and performance.
• Ensure data solutions adhere to FAIR principles to enhance usability and sharing.
  
  
  

Essential Skills/Experience

• 12+ years in software and data engineering.
• Deep expertise in Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, CI/CD and automation good practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions, Automation Testing).
• Skilled in coding languages (Java, Python) and cloud services (AWS, Airflow, ECS/EKS).
• Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  
  
  

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or similar large multinational environments.
• AWS Cloud or other relevant certifications.
