We are the captive Shared Service Provider for DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Freight (DGFF). We are an organization of more than 4,600 colleagues complemented by approximately 500 virtual FTE (i.e., bots applied in process automation). Our colleagues are based across six service delivery centers in Mumbai, Chennai, Chengdu, Manila, Bogota & Budapest. You will interact with people from all over the world and get the chance to a truly international organization.

As an Expert Data Scientist at DSL, the role will lead data analysis and modelling initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to derive actionable insights and drive decision-making processes. With advanced expertise in machine learning and statistical analysis, the role will be key in translating complex data into strategic recommendations to support DSL's objectives and foster innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Model Development:

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models to solve business problems.

• Conduct data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis to derive meaningful insights.

• Validate and fine-tune models to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Generative AI & RAG Implementation:

• Develop and deploy generative AI models to improve automation and decision-making processes.

• Apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques to enhance information retrieval and response generation.

• Research and experiment with state-of-the-art generative AI methodologies to drive innovation.

• Business Insight & Reporting:

• Translate complex data findings into actionable business insights.

• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports to effectively communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive strategic decisions.

• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

• Work closely with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and innovative ideas.

• Support senior data scientists in large-scale projects and contribute to the development of best practices.

• Continuous Learning & Innovation:

• Stay updated with the latest trends in data science, machine learning, and AI.

• Experiment with new algorithms and technologies to enhance existing models and solutions.

• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions within the team and organization.

• Data Governance & Best Practices:

• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company policies.

• Maintain clear documentation of models, methodologies, and workflows.

• Promote best practices in coding, data management, and model deployment

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or AI roles.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI models and hands-on experience with implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts.
• Basic understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or matplotlib.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Team player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to innovative projects.
• Familiarity with APIs and system integrations for data processing.
• Understanding of ethical AI practices and data privacy considerations.
