About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer with strong proficiency in either Vue.js or React.js to join our high-performing product teams at Jacobs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering responsive, well-structured interfaces using modern front-end frameworks, Vite, and Tailwind CSS. You will work closely with back-end engineers, product owners, and UI stakeholders to build scalable web applications hosted on Azure. This role requires a strong focus on component architecture, performance optimisation, and the ability to work with mock APIs to support decoupled, efficient development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, responsive user interfaces using Vue.js or React.js, depending on the assigned product.
• Use Vite as the front-end build tool and Tailwind CSS for all styling and layout implementations.
• Develop modular, reusable components and ensure code consistency across the application.
• Integrate front-end features with mock APIs, enabling decoupled development from the backend and supporting parallel workflows.
• Optimise performance through effective component design and use of profiling tools (e.g. Vue Devtools, React DevTools, Lighthouse).
• Collaborate with backend developers, product owners, and UI stakeholders to deliver intuitive and maintainable front-end features.
• Maintain clean code and effective collaboration using GitHub workflows.

Here's what you'll need

Preferred Skills

• 5–8 years of professional experience in front-end development with at least one major framework Vue.js or React.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), component-based architecture, and state management (Vuex/Pinia, Context API, Redux, or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with Vite for rapid build and development processes.
• Strong command of Tailwind CSS and responsive design techniques.
• Comfortable working with mock data and APIs to enable frontend-first development.
• Proficient with GitHub version control and collaborative development workflows.
  
  
  

Desirable

• Exposure to TypeScript (not used currently, but helpful for future readiness)
• Familiarity with front-end performance tuning and tools such as Lighthouse, Web Vitals, and DevTools Profilers
• Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with sprint-based delivery models
