How You Fit In
Join our AWB Delivery & Support POD as a Senior Frontend Data Visualization Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in crafting exceptional UI experiences for our energy analytics applications. You'll leverage your expertise in React.js and Looker to build, optimize, and maintain interactive dashboards and web applications, ensuring seamless production support and deployment. If you're a problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about turning data into actionable insights, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Frontend Development & Optimization:
- Develop and maintain high-performance React.js applications that seamlessly embed Looker dashboards and visualizations.
- Design and optimize interactive Looker dashboards using LookML and Liquid tailored for energy datasets and business insights.
- Implement advanced filtering, drill-down capabilities, and custom UI elements to enhance user experience.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and accessibility, adhering to best practices.
- Integrate Looker's authentication and authorization mechanisms into React applications.
- Optimize React components and LookML models for performance and scalability
- Post-Release Monitoring & Performance Analysis:
- Monitor the performance and stability of deployed frontend applications and Looker dashboards.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to UI performance, API integrations, and data visualizations, analyzing logs and query performance.
- Validate data accuracy and consistency between Looker and underlying data sources.
- Collaborate with product teams to iterate and improve UI based on user feedback and data analysis.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and Business Stakeholders to align on requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Communicate technical solutions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Engage in stakeholder discussions to refine dashboard usability and frontend features
- Documentation & Release Management:
- Document UI workflows, LookML models, Looker dashboard configurations, and API integrations using Confluence, Notion, and Git.
- Maintain clear and concise release notes for frontend and dashboard updates.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end release process for Looker and React-based applications.
- Implement and automate quality control processes for Looker and React applications.
- Gradually become a backup for other development engineers, providing support and expertise.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in BI development and Data Analytics in cloud platforms.
- Expertise in React.js (hooks, state management, performance optimization) and Looker (LookML, dashboard design, Looker Embed SDK).
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices, particularly for energy datasets.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational DW/cloud database systems (Snowflake, Databricks, GBQ).
- Experience with REST APIs and backend integration.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot UI performance issues and debug production incidents.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and front-end testing frameworks.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Git, Confluence, and Notion for version control and documentation.
- Strong understanding of non-functional requirements mostly related to security, performance, and scale.
- Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses/ Data Marts/ PUB SUB models in big data solutions.
- Ability to influence decision-making through data and be metric-driven.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Skills:
- BI tools administration knowledge (Looker, Power BI, MSTR, Tableau).
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
