About the job:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customize and develop WordPress themes & plugins: Architect, build, and customize responsive WordPress themes and plugins from scratch to meet specific project requirements and design mockups.
2. Implement new functionalities & modules: Design and develop new features, modules, and web pages within the WordPress environment to enhance website capability and user experience.
3. Develop robust back-end logic with PHP: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient PHP code for server-side logic, integrating seamlessly with front-end elements.
4. Manage and optimize database performance: Create, modify, and optimize MySQL/MariaDB database schemas, write complex queries, and ensure efficient data structures and retrieval.
5. Develop and integrate RESTful APIs: Build custom APIs and integrate third-party services (using cURL, AJAX) to ensure smooth data exchange and communication between different systems.
6. Build responsive & interactive front-ends: Develop pixel-perfect, responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like Bootstrap and/or Tailwind CSS.
7. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues: Proactively identify, diagnose, and fix complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities across the entire application stack.
8. Optimize for performance and SEO: Implement web performance optimization techniques (Schema markup, Rich Snippets, caching, image optimization) and adhere to SEO-friendly coding practices to ensure high search engine rankings.
9. Ensure cross-browser and device compatibility: Guarantee that all websites and functionalities render consistently and perform flawlessly across all major browsers and device types.
10. Collaborate with design and marketing teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate design concepts and marketing requirements into dynamic, user-friendly, and functional web experiences.
11. Maintain comprehensive website security, find and fix vulnerabilities to ensure high uptime for the web application.

Other Requirements:

1. Strong proficiency in PHP for back-end development.

2. Expertise in customizing and developing for WordPress CMS (themes, plugins, and core functionality).

3. Experience with MySQL or MariaDB (database schema design, queries, and management).

4. Development and integration of custom RESTful APIs.

5. Experience with cURL and AJAX.

6. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

7. Hands-on experience with jQuery and Bootstrap.

8. Knowledge of Tailwind CSS is a plus.

9. Familiarity with React.js is preferred (optional but advantageous).

10. Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize websites for performance, security, and scalability.

11. Understanding of web performance optimization and SEO-friendly coding practices.

12. Ensuring cross-browser compatibility.

13. Strong collaboration skills to work with design and marketing teams.
